The cancellation of Obama’s fiesta on Acropolis was the first victory for the demonstrators against his visit. We dedicate it to the thousands who demonstrate against Trump.

The Obama visit to Athens, after the election of Trump in the US presidency, which is to take place during the three-day celebration of the Polytechnic uprising, is a provocation against the democratic and peace-loving sentiments of the vast majority of workers and youth. The US and NATO supported then the bloody dictatorship of the colonels, now they support the apartheid state of Israel, the dictator Sisi of Egypt and are arming their allies to compete with Russia and other forces in the Syrian civil war.

The election of Trump sends the message of the escalation of the imperialist campaigns abroad and of racism within the US; for this reason, the neo-Nazi Golden Dawn ran to celebrate.

The defeat of the interventions in Iraq and Afghanistan left behind debris, millions of dead and displaced refugees for the sake of control of oil fields and strategic passes.

Obama, the first black US president, closes his term escalating the military intervention in Iraq and Syria with operations in Mosul and Aleppo. This escalation will bring new carnage of dead, millions of refugees.

The solution can only come from the united struggle of the workers and the Kurds away from any alliance with the imperialists, the US and Russia or the local forces claiming share in plundering Syria.

In the country of Obama itself, the uprising of blacks, the Blacklivesmatter movement, emphasizes that the first imperialist power is leading in racism with the hundreds of killings of blacks by police.

The choice of Tsipras to welcome the US president is provocative. The slippery slope of engagement in competitions in the Middle East and the Mediterranean is endless. Tsipras accepted the racist EU-Turkey agreement and the deportation of refugees in this country, while Erdogan is bombarding the villages of Kurds, imprisoning HDP leaders, trade unionists and journalists. He accepted the presence of NATO on the side of FRONTEX, closing borders to refugees and bringing the death toll to 4300 drowned this year in the icy waters of the Mediterranean, north of Egypt and Libya. He built the Israel-Egypt-Greece axis, shaking the hands of the butchers of the Palestinian people and the Egyptian revolution fighters against Mubarak.

For the sake of imperialist interventions, the government spends billions on armaments next to those that grab the bankers to repay the debt.

The strike upsurge on November 24 and December 8 with the general strikes, the student rallies (both from high-schools and universities), the antifascist mobilizations against the neo-Nazi Golden Dawn in Rethymnon, Xanthi, Lesbos and the mobilizations of solidarity to refugees, to enroll refugee children in schools and to close the camps bring to the fore the worker and people power steadily marching on the road mapped out by November 1973 Polytechnic uprising.

We invite you to organize together the campaign for trial and conviction of neo-Nazi Golden Dawn and solidarity to refugees, against war, imperialism and racism.
